I am an ccounting professional with over twenty five years of experience in diverse Accounting operations environments. I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from the evening division of Saint Joseph's University in May of 1987. After granduation, I accepted a position as sales accountant in the loan accounting department of the former Philadelphia Saving Fund Society (PSFS) where I was involved in the liquidation of one of their major mortgage portfolios. After the department was elimated in the summer of 1990, I held a variety of positions with progressively increasing responsibilities. Some of more notable of these positions included Investor Reporting Representative for Wentworth Realty, Inc. in Philadelphia, where I was responsible for the financial reporting for the owners' portion of various Condominium Associations, Accounts Receivable Coordinator for Omicron Consulting, also in Philadelphia, and Site Controller (Property Accountant) for Iatros Health Network, where I oversaw the accounting for a number of nursing home facilities in the midwestern United States. In October of 1997 I was hired as a Staff Accountant for Parkway Corporation of Philadelphia, a family-owned company which owned, leased or managed the largest share of the parking market in Philadelphia. At Parkway I oversaw the accounting for various combinations of the company's owned, leased and managed portfolios. At one point in my tenure at Parkway, I was manging 70% of the accounting for the Parkway entity itself, and 100% of its Subsidiaries. Due to cost-cutting considerations, my position at Parkway was eliminated at the end of October of 2009. I was subsequently employed in March of 2010 by Expert Parking of Philadelphia, which owned, leased or managed the second largest share of the Philadelphia parking market. Expert Parking was acquired by Standard Parking, a Chicago-based parking company with over 2000 locations nationwide, which subsequently merged with Central Parking. The highlights of my career have included development of efficiencies, process simplification and documentation standards to facilitate new employee development. From February 2011 through July 2012, I was employed as a Senior Accountant / Accounts Payable Manager by CAG Truck Capital of Chadds Ford, Pa, a private, family-owned business that provided financing for truck dealers and their customers. This position was eliminated due to the economy and the overall poor condition of the company. After a transition period of three (3) weeks, I was subsequently hired as a Senior Accountant / Payables Manager by Shuster Staffing, Inc., located in Bala Cynwyd, PA, a privately-owned business that provided staffing and recruiting services for a highly diversified client base. This position was also consolidated as a result of cost-cutting considerations. After a transition period of five (5) weeks, I was hired to my current position as Senior Staff Accountant by Arbor Material Handling, Inc. of Willow Grove, PA, a subsidiary of Raymond Corporation, a manufacturer and distributor of fork lifts. Arbor contacted me after I responded to an employer confidential posting on CareerBuilder.com. I was offered the position upon interviewing. |
